  • 5 Things I Learned & Achieved in 2018

2018 was a whirlwind of a year and I feel like I learned and achieved some important things during that time.

    What I Learned

⁃ That I don’t have to be the best at everything and no one expects me to be. I’ve always been the type of person to give up when I fall at the first hurdle, instead of picking myself up and finishing the race. I’ve learned that it isn’t about winning, it’s about doing the best that I can and that’s more than enough to make myself and my family proud.
⁃ That there is more to life than social media and watching your follower numbers increasing, which can be difficult for a blogger whose opportunities are often based on the digits. A few months ago, I stopped caring about Instagram and the need to post daily and my following has decreased rapidly but that’s fine. Social media comes and goes. Who knows if Instagram will even be around in 5 years time? I enjoy living in the moment more; not constantly feeling like I have to photograph and document everything I do and worrying about my grid looking aesthetically pleasing with a theme that can be found on every other blogger’s Instagram page.

    What I Achieved

⁃ My first paid collaborations – Little Mix Style Stealin‘ & How I Edit my Blog Photos – and can only hope that this continues and improves into 2019. It was so much fun and feels like such an achievement. I never expected to make any money from my blog but it makes me determined to keep going and hopefully take my blog to a new level.
⁃ Passing my 3rd year placement at CALA homes and therefore 3rd year of university. It was an enjoyable and tough year but incredibly rewarding. I’ve gained work experience in the marketing field as well as progressing into my final year of university. Now, just keep your fingers crossed for me that this year goes as well…
⁃ Renovating and Moving into my first house with my best friend. It was intense and extremely hard going renovating and decorating a house from scratch but the end result is something we are both so very happy with. I definitely won’t be rushing to do that process again anytime soon – it was a stressful time for both of us – but that’s okay because we will be happy here for a good few years at least.

There we go, the 5 things I learned and achieved in 2018!
