I cannot believe that Christmas is over for another year and what a great one it has been – I hope you all had a wonderful time too!
I know not everyone likes these posts but I enjoy reading what other people got for Christmas. It’s helpful for getting gift ideas for birthdays and other celebrations throughout the year, as well as a great way to show loved ones I am thankful.
Aspinal of London Travel Wallet
My main gift this year from my parents was a beautiful Aspinal of London Travel wallet in the stunning Topaz shade.
This is the perfect piece for trips away and stores all the important documents that you need for your holiday – passport, currency, boarding pass etc. There can be no excuse for that last minute panic that you cannot find your passport anymore! There is a large selection of shades to choose from and can also be personalised which makes a lovely gift. I am delighted with my travel wallet as travelling is one of my main hobbies and now I can do so in style.
It isn’t the most purse friendly item at £130 (some are currently on sale, so check that out if you fancy saving some pennies!) but the quality sure does reflect the price.
Missoma Star & Hoop Earrings
I’ve been after a pair of good earrings that I can keep in daily for the longest time and found the perfect pair to match my Missoma necklace from Blair for my previous Christmas (also linked below) from the same online shop and they found their way onto my Santa list.
The necklace is the only necklace I ever wear, and I think the earrings may receive the same status – they are gorgeous. They are little 18ct gold hoop earrings with a star on one and a crescent moon on the other. I love earrings that are mismatched as it adds a little bit of quirkiness to your look.
Michael Buble Tickets
I have been a huge Michael Buble fan since I was 15 (I’m now almost 25) and I have never had the chance to go and see him perform yet so when his 2019 tour was announced, I knew I would have to go. Blair decided as it was something I really wanted that we would get them for my Christmas and instead of booking tickets for Glasgow like I thought we would be going, he booked them for Prague which means I now have a ticket for my fave artist AND a holiday! I’m so excited.
Little Mix Tickets
Following on from the previous, I also received a ticket to Little Mix’s tour in Aberdeen with my boyfriend’s sister which is a great way for us to get to know each other properly and have a fun time listening to the girl band. It should be a great evening and I’m very much looking forward to it.
Benefit Gimme Some Sugar Gift Set
Benefit is actually a brand I’ve never really had the privilege to try before (due to being a skint student…) so I was excited when I opened up the Gimme Some Sugar gift set that includes full size Roller Lash mascara, the POREfessional primer High Beam highlighter and a Hole Bronzer.
I’m especially excited to try out the Hoola Bronzer as I’ve only ever used the Rimmel Natural Bronzer to sun-kiss my ghostly complexion before, and I’ve heard great things!
The set is displayed in a metal tin that is shaped like a three tier cake in the signature Benefit pink with gold accents – beautiful. This is definitely a great gift for a girl friend.
Fox & Ivy Silver Mirror Tray & Iridescent Glasses
This year my sister got something that Blair and I could both enjoy in our wee house.
Firstly, she gave us a gorgeous silver tray with a glass face which is perfect to aesthetically place our iridescent champagne glasses on that she also got for us. These now live pride of place on my bar cart and make a great addition to our decor and practicability, of course. I love them.
Home Gift Hamper
There has definitely been a theme this year with our presents. This year Blair and I were kindly given a joint gift hamper for partly a Christmas present as well as a house warming gift from my parents full of tasty and handy tidbits for our new home, like gin (obviously!), chocolates, a Crackle Wick candle, oven gloves and much more. It was very thoughtful and was displayed beautifully in the hamper. How great is a hamper though? Such a fabulous gift that you can really put so much thought and care into.
Speaking of Hampers…
We also received another hamper this year from Blair’s sister that included bits for both of us. I received some gorgeous hoop earrings in a tortoise shell print as well as a Kiko Velvet Passion Lipstick in the shade 319 which is a beautiful dark burgundy colour – right up my street – and a personalised notebook. If you know me, I’m a stationary addict so that’s a firm favourite for sure.
She also gave us a dainty personalised sign that reads ‘Blair and Kirsty’s home’, how sweet!
Those are just a few of the items that I am incredibly lucky to have received for Christmas 2018. I haven’t mentioned everything from my friends and family because this post would just be far too long but I’m thankful for everything I was gifted and love it all. It’s been a good year for gifts!
