Earlier this month I got the opportunity to go to The Body Shop Blogger Event in Aberdeen’s store to learn a little more about their Christmas range with a group of other bloggers from Aberdeen.
This was my first blogger event so I was excited to finally have the chance to see what one entails, albeit a little nervous too. For moral support, my friends Holly, Jess (who also had never been to an event before) and I all went along together.
On arrival, we were each treated to a glass of Buck’s Fizz or Cava and some chocolates while the lovely girls at the store explained the products in their Christmas range which come in the scents Spiced Apple, Frosted Berries and Vanilla Chai – they all smell amazing by the way!
The Body Shop is known to be a very respectable brand creating cruelty free products and this Christmas period, the company are going that step further with their Go Wild Campaign. For every specially selected Christmas gift bought this year, The Body Shop are restoring 1 square metre of rainforest in Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia to help protect endangered wildlife. If you are keen to find out more about this just click here.
If you pop into your local shop, you will come across these personalisation stations where you can print off stickers for a purchased body butter that say ‘I’M WILD ABOUT’. All you have to do is choose which animal you would like to include – tiger, panda, deer or flamingo – and type the required name. Personalisation in the beauty industry is on the increase so I think this is a great idea as a stocking filler for any beauty or skincare lover.
During the evening, we got the chance to browse the store and being the shopaholic that I am, I couldn’t say no to picking up a few products.
Beauty advert calendars are very popular right now and The Body Shop have three to choose from, ranging in size and price range. I chose this pink middle sized calendar and I cannot wait for December 1st so I can start opening it. Each calendar includes 24 days of products that equate to being worth a lot more than the calendar itself.
I also picked up these goodies.
First of all is the Frosted Berries Hand Cream which I chose because it is probably my favourite Christmas scent, it smells divine and hand cream is a necessity for me at this time of the year.
I’ve heard good reviews on the Skin Defence Multi-Protection Essence SPF50 Moisturiser so I thought I would give it a go. This daily moisturiser has SPF 50 to help protect the skin from UVB rays but unlike sun cream, is meant to glide on the skin and sink in quickly making make up application easier and doesn’t leave you feeling greasy.
Finally is my personalised body butter in Spiced Apple which I’m so happy with. I’ve always loved The Body Shop’s body butters and to have one with my name on it is pretty special. I’ll definitely be picking up a few of these for Christmas presents.
Will you be personalising a body butter this year for someone special?
