This is a very exciting one for me. Not long ago, Colourpop had an offer for free international shipping on orders over $50 which I just couldn’t say no to. I’ve been longing after Colourpop products ever since I saw Kathleen Lights speaking about the brand in her videos.
I made the most of the offer, as standard shipping is normally pretty pricey due to the company being based in the US, and purchased quite a lot so I will be splitting this into three separate hauls.
The first of which will be showing you the eyeshadows that I bought. One thing Colourpop is known for is the unique formula of their eyeshadows so I knew I had to try some out. Each eyeshadow comes in a singular pot that Colourpop explains is because if they were in a palette, the colours would dry out. The eyeshadows are almost mousse-like in consistency and feel wet to the touch, it’s definitely not like anything I’ve ever felt before. They have a slight spring to them, imagine pressing your finger onto a sponge. It really is bizarre and I love it!
Each of the shadows purchased were $5 which is the standard price. However, the company also have box sets with selected colours for slightly less.
Now onto the shades I purchased:
Liberty – described as an intense ultra-metallic silver. Now when they say metallic, they mean it! This is the most pigmented silver eyeshadow I’ve ever come across. It’s completely opaque and applies effortlessly and smooth with barely a touch of the pot. I don’t wear silver on my eyes often which is why I bought this to try get out of my comfort zone and I don’t regret it one bit.
I Heart This – described as a cool-toned silvery taupe with multi-coloured glitter. The name of this shadow is very apt as I very much love this colour. It’s lot sheerer than the other colours I picked up so I wouldn’t wear it on its own but I love using this over the top of any matte shadow and in my inner corner to really pack some punch. The glitter in this shadow really helps transform a day time look to something much more evening appropriate. It is hands down my most used shadow of my mini collection as it is such a versatile colour.
Telepathy – described as a bright gold with green undertone in an ultra-metallic finish. This colour is stunning, maybe my favourite out of all 5 shadows I purchased. This colour swatched is what I imagine melted gold looking like. Again, this shadow is insanely pigmented, vibrant and glides onto the skin so nicely. It really is such a unique colour and a definite choice if you are buying from Colourpop.
Game Face – described as an intense penny copper with a liquid-like metallic finish. This is one that is perfect for applying all over the lid for a quick but gorgeous look. A slight touch of the eyeshadow and you will have a rich, pigmented colour that again is opaque and not patchy in any way. The formula of these metallics are just outstanding in my opinion. Copper is perfect for Autumn so I have a feeling I will be using this one a lot this month.
And finally, Hammered – described as a smokey olive with gold glitter and multi-coloured sparkles in a metallic finish. When choosing this colour, I decided I wanted something that I had never tried before. Olive is definitely a colour I haven’t tried pulling off but one I love the look of on others. This is exactly what I hoped it would be and a colour I think I will only be able to pull off for a nighttime look as it is a dark shade, which I guess is what the name of this shade suggests. This shadow isn’t as metallic as the other metallic shades but even still the pigment is consistent and applies like a dream.
Above you will see the swatches of each colour but the photo really doesn’t do these eyeshadows any justice. Every single one is highly pigmented, they don’t go patchy when you are applying them and they last all night on your eyes. I am obsessed with these and am dying to place another order so I can try out some more.
Have you tried Colourpop eyeshadows? If not, which colour would you want to try?
